Watch Dogs: Legion reverted to type, being a largely uninteresting tale with outdated mechanics and a frustrating choice of characters. Its saving grace was London, and how it had managed to capture a level of authenticity while also making it a fun place to explore for natives of the English capital. It’s clear after three installments that Watch Dogs’ strength is in its ability to present an interesting and accurate setting, so it’s all to easy for players to theorize about where, if anywhere, it should go next....

The Outer Worlds 2 announcement at E3 this year was unsurprising, but still excited players at the thought of seeing a brand new star system and new crewmates. The new game has a lot of potential by placing itself outside of Halcyon, but the plot, dialogue, and characters weren’t really what players had issues with. It all came down to mechanics, specifically combat, and how The Outer Worlds DLC didn’t really add anything new in that regard....

It was Warner Bros. who first crossed the red line, revoking the ability of other studios to see the daily figures for the release of Tenet. Instead the company has opted to report numbers only on specific days, carefully managing how and when the figures are revealed. This move was begrudgingly accepted by other studios, who were not quite so brave as to release a big budget blockbuster during the pandemic....

The new title seems to focus on swift movement around gorgeous environments, centering on the game’s protagonist using a bow and arrow to string together free-flowing traversal. Throughout their adventure, the player will come across giant beasts that they’ll need to take down and monsters they must sneak past, with many comparing the experience to that of Team ICO’s Shadow of the Colossus. Overall, it looks to mix ABZÛ’s reflective tone with a greater emphasis on action-focused set pieces, suggesting it’s likely to be the most expansive experience Giant Squid has tackled yet....
