Whether it’s characters that only appear in the comics and expanded universe or blink, and you’ll miss them extras from the movies, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has fully embraced the ‘Far Far Away’ nature of the franchise and added some truly niche characters to the game that fans can play as.

8 Yarael Poof: The Long-Necked Jedi Master

The Jedi characters in The Skywalker Saga are some of the best and most recognizable in the game, but then there’s Yarael Poof who is by no means a Jedi Council staple like Mace Windu or Ki-Adi-Mundi.

Only appearing in one scene of Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace Yarael was cut from the sequel after George Lucas was concerned that audiences would confuse him with the Kaminoans.

How To Unlock Yarael Poof

Players can find Yarael Poof on Kamino where he will give the quest Rala’s Day Off. After completing this, players will be able to purchase him for 100,000 studs.

7 Rebel Friend: The Loyal Companion

Rebel Friend first appeared in LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy and later in LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga as a playable character in the mission Secret Plans alongside Captain Antilles, C3PO, and R2D2.

Rebel Friend became somewhat of a meme and a favorite among fans of the older LEGO Star Wars games so to have him as a playable character in The Skywalker Saga is clearly a nod to longtime fans of the franchise.

How To Unlock Rebel Friend

Players will unlock Rebel Friend by visiting the Hoth Echo Base and speaking to a Rebel Doctor who will give them the quest The Healing Power of Crystals. Once completed, Rebel Friend can be purchased for 200,000 studs.

6 Gonkatine: The Knights Of Gonk

Gonkatine is a completely original character created specifically for The Skywalker Saga, so niche doesn’t do the character justice. Gonkatine is a red GNK-Series droid that attempted to join the Knights of Ren but was denied.

As a way of getting back at them, Gonkatine decides to assemble a team of its own called the Knights of Gonk. Gonkatine enlists the help of the player or its “minion” and tasks them with flying around the galaxy to recruit the most fiendish Gonks around.

How To Unlock Gonkatine

Players can unlock Gonkatine by finding him on Exegol where it will give them the quest The Knights of Gonk. Upon completion of the quest, Gonkatine can be purchased for 200,000 studs.

5 Willrow Hood: The Ice Cream Man

Fans may have trouble remembering Willrow from the movies and that’s because he’s an extra with only 2 seconds of screen time in Star Wars: Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back.

The character became known among hardcore fans after the extra in the movie was spotted running with an ice cream machine in one of the scenes when the main characters are trying to escape Bespin. Despite his minor appearance, the character has gone on to have his own expanded lore, action figure, and now a place on The Skywalker Saga roster.

How To Unlock Willrow Hood

Willrow Hood can be found on Bespin where he will give players the quest I Spy Cream. After finishing the short mission, he will be unlockable in the character selection screen for 100,000 studs.

4 Carib Diss: The Toothy Bounty Hunter

There’s something synonymous with Star Wars and its bounty hunters becoming popular despite having barely any screen time in the movies. WIth famous examples like Boba Fett, Bossk, and Aurra Sing who all have tons of expanded lore despite their initial limited appearances.

On the other hand, there are bounty hunters like Carib Diss who haven’t quite entered the hall of fame. Making his appearance in Star Wars: Episode 9 The Rise of Skywalker at the Spice Runner’s Den on Kijimi, Carib is seen in the background for just a couple of seconds, but his design is extremely unique, so it’s clear why he was added to the game.

How To Unlock Carib Diss

Players will need to fly to the planet Kef Bir and speak to the Orbak Keeper who will give them the quest Untitled Orbak Game. Once this is completed Carib Diss can be purchased for 100,000 studs.

3 Mister Bones: The Sadistic Droid

Mister Bones the modified B1 Battle droid that only appears in the expanded universe. He is Resistance Pilot Temmin Wexley’s bodyguard and has been heavily altered to the point that he now has a murderous bloodlust.

His first appearance was in the novels, but he has yet to make an on-screen appearance, unlike his partner Temmin who appears in Star Wars: Episode 7 The Force Awakens.

How To Unlock Mister Bones

Mister Bones is unlocked by participating in the Exegol Space Scramble Run race and finishing in under 55 seconds to achieve the gold medal. Once the gold medal has been awarded, Bones can be purchased for 100,000 studs. Alternatively, he can be unlocked with the codeBAC1CKP as well as his partner Temmin Wexley with the code SKYSAGA.

2 Mama The Hutt: The Matriarch

Mama the Hutt, as the name might suggest, is the Grandmother of Jabba the Hutt. While it’s not unknown that there are other Hutts in the Star Wars universe, Mama is one of the more obscure members of the family.

Only appearing in one episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, of which she had little screen time, Mama is the only character in The Skywalker Saga who exclusively appears in the animated show.

How To Unlock Mama The Hutt

Fly to Canto Bight on Cantonica where Mama the Hutt can be found. Speak to her and accept the quest Silencing Snootles. After completing the quest Mama can be unlocked for 500,000 studs.

1 R2-KT: The Wholesome Tribute

Very few fans will have heard of this little droid, but its origin has a sweet albeit sad tale. Fans built a pink astromech droid for a girl called Katie Johnson who had brain cancer and wished she had a droid like R2-D2 who watched over Padme when she was sick.

The droid was named after Katie and stayed with her during her final days in the hospital. It’s now used to raise awareness at Star Wars events and has been used in various fundraising schemes, even getting its own action figure.

How To Unlock R2-KT

Players will need to go to D’Qar and find the pink astromech droid R2-KT. It will then give the quest Attackodana which upon completion, will unlock the droid for 100,000 studs.
